What a year 2016 was. Can it be repeated in 2017 or even topped? I have a good feeling for it and I think we can build on all the good things we got moving last year and ramp it up a notch or two. So with the first blog of the year its got to be about some of the big things we have planned and what we already have rolling.
First of all we have a rather large to-do-list for the club. We have our first committee meeting of the year on Wednesday night and there is plenty to talk about. From the constitution, membership improvements, renovations to the ground and buildings and working out how to increase the awareness of the club.
Well the good news is we are off to a flyer. We had the quiz on the Friday night and we have over 20 of us having a great wee night. Proper enjoyment had by all. We also have got the next event motoring with the whisky tasting scheduled in for Friday 27th January. Tickets have gone on sale at a very reasonably priced £10 and aiming to create a grand evening. It will be our first one hopefully of many and giving the members something new to look forward too. If you are reading this and fancy it then please get in touch for tickets on our email address - [email protected]
So what else is going on. Well its always good to get a mention in another blog and this week's Queens Park President's Blog. All about the upcoming 150th anniversary of the founding of Queens Park and the starter event that is being planned at the 1st Hampden. I'm sure there will be plenty of blogs about that. Also they have created a number of videos to celebrate the upcoming events and these are fab. Here's the links:

I also put out the Our History video this week on the facebook page - already been viewed nearly 500 times so here's hoping that gets out to even more :-)
We are hopoing to get a great year. Thanks to everyone at the club for all their support last year. Here's to an even better one for HBC and all the other bowling clubs around the country!
Cheers
