So on a Sunday night you get to the end of the week and I am thinking - there is something I usually do. Having been away for the weekend I kinda forgot that I have one final task to do before I can finally sign off the end of the week. So what has been happening in HBC world. Yesterday was the 2 bowl pairs but I managed to forget to phone Mr Williams to find out the score. I'll find it out tomorrow night at the indoor bowls to see who scooped the trophy.
While we are on that subject. I had my first taste of indoor bowls last week. What a different game that is. Each Monday myself, Jim P and Ian W from HBC are part of a 5 that play in the Monday night league at the Glasgow Indoor Bowling Club - its just up the road. The difference in speeds is immense - so quick on the indoor. Lots of good fun though. Although we did get down to the final bowl and were unfortunately beaten 15-14.
Ok the big thing I have been trying to sort out is volunteers for a programme that BBC Scotland Radio are putting together. Laura got in touch from Bowls Scotland asking if we would take part. I jumped at the chance and I have been sorting out some willing volunteers to talk about the club, its history and its place in society. This will be fantastic for our little club and hoping that it can be recorded in the next week or two. So much to talk about and it will be great publicity for the club. So far I have four up for it. Me, Mima, Jim P and Ian W. So got one more to go.
Oh and have you seen the Buxton advert? We had a wee challenge from Jim Neil this week. We now just need the gents and ladies to be up for a wee bit of filming to do a Hampden Version....
Lots to be getting on with!
Have a grand week
