Another grand week at HBC. The weather is getting better, the green is running a wee bit faster and the club is getting busier. There were a number of spectators watching the delayed 2015 mens pairs final. A tough fought match between the secretary's pairing of Williams & Brown versus Clark & Thomson. The HBC Secretary had made a shrewd move pairing up with the Club Champion and they ran out winners. First piece of silverware and continues to do things that avoids the wall of fame.... One day. One day.
There was another big match this week with Queens Park taking on the mighty Blue Brazil. This time it was the President's and Treasurers QP team versus the HBC Secretary's beloved Cowdenbeath. A few of the members went along to the 3rd Hampden to see it and we're spotted on the QP website. In fact rumoured has it that Mr Williams was seen rather bored. He is obviously not used to such quality 2nd Division football.
On Friday there was the monthly quiz. An entertaining evening of the Secretary turn quiz master dishing out a series of tricky questions to fox the brains of the gathered members. It boiled down to another tie breaker. I needed a break to work out what the question should be but plucked out of thin air. A proper grand evening!
The Facebook and Twitter account is really starting to motor. We are now up to over 200 followers on Twitter and 230 likes on Facebook. So if you haven't already then follow us and see what we are up too. In fact I just remembered that I got sent a little link this week to a picture from the past. It shows Queens Park Avenue (which is opposite the Bowling Club). What a cracking find from one of the members.
Here is the link - its a good long scroll down but there are some amazing pictures in here of Old Glasgow!
