So every year we hold our invitational. 14 teams make the trip to Hampden and compete in a great day of bowls, food and drink. A massive effort from the Match Secretary to organise all the teams and also the committee members making sure that the day runs smoothly. By all accounts it was a great day had by all with the two teams from Red Deer Bowling Club in East Kilbride making the final. The Hampdeners skipped by Gerry Murphy managed to get to the semi with another team from Whitefield. It rained a few times through the afternoon but didn't spoil the enjoyment. Our event was sponsored by Anderson McGuire and we are very grateful for their continued support.
It was the last game of the season in the Cathcart League this week. Giffnock ran out overall winners and Hampden turned on the style with 3 out of 4 victories against Wellcroft. Just starting to get into our stride and the season finishes. Not sure if we finished bottom or not but will soon find out.
A few fixtures this week. The ladies are out in the Rutherglen tomorrow and Hampden has a Top 5 this week against Cathcart.
Oh and there was another 10k run this week. I went out do Dundonald and it was my fastest run to date. 52 mins and 40 secs. So hoping to speed up - only 3 x 10ks to go. David Morrison helped ran with me this week and helped a lot to get the time down..Just about kept up with him. Next one is Irvine so looking forward to that. The sponsor page is ticking along https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/restore1stHampden
Have a great week
