Although there has been no play on the green for about a month, the Club does not stop. During the past few days about a dozen members have done a large amount of gardening to get the Club’s grounds prepared for next season. The ditch mats were removed and piled up to dry, the paths weeded, the hedge trimmed, trees and bushes pruned, grass strimmed, chairs and tables washed down, benches painted and the place generally tidied up. The grounds are looking great and is testament to the hardy Hampden squad that braved the weather and done a great job. Tonight the Committee met and would like to extend their warmest thanks to everyone that pitched up and helped. As one of them was quoted "what a difference a squad makes".
This coming Friday (10th November at 7pm) one of the highlights of the season, the Presentation Dance, will be held at Queen’s Park Bowling Club. Okay you may ask why but our little club doesn't have the capacity for end of season bash. So there are still tickets available so if you are free then please come along to congratulate the winners. Its a brilliant night, bit of a laugh and a great finale to another year. Our 113th no less!
Cheers
